Just discovered Bee Heaven Farm, our local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm.

Currently, I am getting most of my produce with Delicious Organics.com. This has worked out much better then I imagine. I put the order in before Wednesday and they deliver it on Friday. The minimal delivery fee is balance with the removal of the impulse items that get snuck into the shopping list. I also find myself actively developing a personal cookbook from the many books that have been sitting on the counter getting dusty. One of the best surprises has been the "scratch-n-dent" option. $30 will get you about $60 worth of vegetable that are less then perfect. This week I got two packed coolers of extra stuff. Feels like a bumper crop. I spent Sunday in the kitchen, making "Futures" (frozen portion for the future).
I think I'm going to plan a field trip, down to homestead and check out a couple of places.

The weird thing about ordering produce and having it delivered is that you don't have a chance to see for yourself what is the freshest choice. Distributors have inventory around for longer than you would imagine and sometimes you end up with old stuff. A local CSA offers freshly picked produce, the healthiest kind!
