Funny but true story. After a call, down south near Homestead, my wonderful boyfriend was made aware of a tree by his crew. Considering the excitement his co worker made about finding the tree, he brought a couple of pods home. I sprouted them in the kitchen and then he planted several around the backyard. The one in direct sunlight suffered and died, the one in heavy shade is doing ok, and the one pictured in the back alley is on steroids. We collect, shell, dry and then store them in a mason jar. Our preferred recipe is rice and beans with coconut milk (Jamaican style) but I have started linking about using it as a hummus and possibly as sprouts, like mung beans.Of course, there is the fabulous many bean soup.
To answer your question, that tree is about 15' - 20'.
Would you consider selling a few of your pigeon pea seeds? I am in California. And am looking for tall types of pigeon pea to plant. Email me direct. Interesting story about how you got your seed.

Where did you get your Pigeon Pea seed? The plant looks very tall. Do you know how tall it is?
Thanks.
Steven.
